Before you start, you will need a provisional driving licence.  You can get a form from the Post Office.

Your lessons will be conducted in a relaxed environment.  All lessons will last for the full duration booked. There will never be any other learners in the car.  This may seem like an obvious thing to say but there are instructors who will use part of your lesson to pick up their next pupil.  This means that instead of driving in area appropriate to the objective of your lesson, you will be used as a taxi service.  This is a disgraceful practice and should be banned by the DSA.

On your first lesson, you will be given a Track Record.  The record will be updated at the end of every lesson. This allows you to see the progress you are making and what is left to achieve.  It also allows me to plan your lessons to suit you and, if you are lucky enough to be able to practice with a friend or relative between your lessons, the friend or relative can use the Progress Chart to give you the right level of help.

There is no rigid structure to the course of lessons or the way they are conducted.  I am always open to your ideas and suggestions so I hope you will always feel free to have an input.

In order to assess your readiness for the practical test, you will be given a mock test.  A mock test is an excellent way of experiencing what will happen on the day of the test and how it will be conducted.  It will also show which areas of your driving need to be developed further.  At the end of it, we will agree when your actual test can be booked for.  I am qualified as a Mock Test instructor.
